Overview
Pepperstone was founded in 2010 and since then has grown significantly to be the 11th largest trading brokerage globally. This considerable growth paired with changing technology leadership over recent years has seen a fragmented, complex technology ecosystem develop. Specifically, data & analytics has organically risen to meet the needs of the growing business, however, without a consistent, directed vision.
With large a technology transformation program nearing completion and an aggressive, globally lead growth agenda, Pepperstone recognised the pressing need for a considered data strategy that would accelerate the execution of the overarching business strategy.
Vivanti/Matr was tasked with uncovering the major issues and needs across the business for data & analytics, synthesise these key themes into an actionable strategy and create a roadmap to execute the strategy
As a result of the strategy, the business was able to execute on an agenda that created simplification, rationalisation & enhancement opportunities across the data ecosystem - both technically and operationally - to drive better cost efficiencies. Improve the current data governance, traceability and security capabilities to lower Pepperstone risk exposure. Finally, create opportunities to build new value added data & analytic capabilities that accelerate their competitive advantage as the business scales.
